PowerDrift is a media content startup that provides reviews for cars and motorbikes for its users, in order to help its users to decide on which car or bike to buy. It was founded by Rohan Albal and Amit Shetty in 2012.
With over 970,000 subscribers, the channel is fast approaching 1 million, to be the first Indian automotive content channel to achieve that feat. It also claims to have garnered over 240 million views since its inception.
This acquisition will enable CarDekho with India’s largest automotive content channel, which will not only help the startup to gain more users but also use the platform to establish authority and drive people looking for automobiles to their own website.
Gurugram-based CarDekho was founded by Amit Jain and Anurag Jain in 2005. It provides a platform for users to search for used and new cars, along with providing them detailed reviews to help them choose the right car.
CarDekho had last raised $2.5 million from Sequoia Capital in March 2018, as part of a larger series B round. CarDekho has strengthened its business by acquiring some of the prominent startups including Zigwheels, Gaadi.com, Help On Wheel, among others.
