Coursera, EdTech Company has recently raised ₹411 Crore ($64 Million) funding from GSV Asset Management. Previously, the investor has supported companies including New Enterprise Associates, Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers and Learn Capital. The Lampert Foundation was also in talks for funding, however, things seem to have not worked out well.

Rick Levin, CEO of Coursera commented that “As the industry leader in online higher education, we have a massive opportunity ahead of us in preparing people, companies, and governments to respond to the changing nature of jobs and to take on the urgent challenges of workforce transformation and need to cope up with the technology changing day by day and also to keep a track of the public interest”.

The total funds of the companies has been raised to ₹1350 Crore ($210.3 Million). The funds raised from GSV Asset Management will be utilized to grow the enterprise business and can expand its master’s degree portfolio and to promote the products across the market.

The company is currently connected with 26 Million people and everyday more and more people are showing interest globally. It partners with 150 universities and education institutions to offer courses, specialisations, and degrees and also planning to provide live interactive sessions with experts.

In early 2015, the company has raised ₹310 Crore ($49.5 Million) funding by Times Internet, New Enterprise Associates, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, & International Finance Corporation, these companies are the root level supporters.
