ShoeKonnect, a small offline retailers with manufacturers, based out of New Delhi, is foraying into a fashion and apparel play in the B2B category, reported ET.

The startup plans to pivot its business model as it will soon turn into a full-fledged fashion B2B marketplace and aims to on-board more than 50 lakh small retailers selling footwear, garments, and other fashion products on its platforms.

The startup claims it will to hit ₹100 crore in monthly gross merchandise value or sales by end of 2020.

“A shoe retailer in a small city is also selling apparel and accessories. There is no reason why we should limit our offering when our product is well equipped at the technological level to offer more services,” Siddharth Vij, co-founder & CEO, ShoeKonnect said.

ShoeKonnect, founded by Siddharth Vij, Chaitanya Rathi, and Siddharth Rastogi in 2014, was later joined by Shubham Agrawal as the co-founder. The startup was looking at eliminating wholesalers and middlemen while empowering small retailers to procure directly from local shoe brands.

Initially, ShoeKonnect built a B2B platform for the footwear sector with manufacturers including brands like Columbus, Action, Campus, and others selling on the platform.

Whereas, at present, from bootstrapped to building a company, the startup has gained backing from InfoEdge. It raised maiden funding of ₹95 lakh from Indian Angel Network in 2016.

Besides ShoeKonnect, there are other players in the similar category, that includes Envoy, Centric Software, Centerstone, Omnify Software, and many more.
