Bengaluru-based Design Café is an online interior design company. The company has raised ₹6.5 crores ($1 Million) in funding from Fireside Ventures. Fireside Ventures is founded by Kanwaljit Singh, former managing director of Helion ventures. Other investors in the round include Apurva Salarpuria (Salarpuria Group of Companies), Sidharth Pansari and Sprout Capital, this is the second time in last 18 months that design cafe has raised funds.
Shezaan Bhojani, managing director of Design Cafe stated that “The interior design industry has largely been offline and disorganised. Middle-class homeowners with houses priced between the range of ₹75 lakh to ₹1.5 crore have lacked access to designers and innovation in interior decor. We are targeting that segment.” He added that the idea is to bring innovation in design and provide to the modern homes in India. The company expects achieving over Rs 100 crores in revenue over the next 24 months.
Moreover, the Bengaluru-based startup plans to invest the raised funds to expand their services in other cities, including Mumbai and Delhi.
