DocsApp

DocsApp, which operates an online doctor consulting platform, has announced that it raised its Series A funding round worth around ₹46.4 crore ($7.2 million).

The funding round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners and Japan-based investors Techmatrix Corporation and DeNa Networks. Existing investors of the company — Anand Rajaraman, Venky Harinarayanan, and Japanese VC Rebright Partners also participated in this round.

The startup says that this new infusion of capital will be used to further develop its technology, expand its scale of operations, as well as to recruit new talent. The company is also planning to scale the size of its team, strengthen its unique engineering solution, and enhance the workflow and information repository for doctors.

Commenting on the development, Bessemer Venture Partners MD Vishal Gupta said,

DocsApp has dramatically altered the patient and doctor experience in more ways than one—the platform on-boards only specialist doctors who are then connected with patients in under 30 minutes. The platform goes a step further in understanding the patient’s condition and, accordingly, connecting with the right doctor.

Rebright Partners Founding General Partner Takeshi Ebihara stated,

In the era of digital transformation, the healthcare sector is poised for major transformation and we believe DocsApp is the leading company achieving this by enabling healthcare accessibility for people across India in a phenomenally innovative way.

DocsApp was founded in 2015 by IIT Madras Alumni – Satish Kannan and Enbasekar Dinadayalane. The online platform empowers specialist doctors to provide high-quality consultation to patients via chat or call within 30 minutes with complete privacy.

So far, the Bengaluru-based healthtech startup has raised a total of $8.4 million and supports 18 specialties such as gynaecology, psychiatry, dermatology, cardiology, oncology, sexology, general medicine etc on its mobile application.
