Bengaluru-based travel-startup, ExploreLifeTraveling India Pvt. Ltd has raised funds from a number of investors. Although the executives remained silent and did not reveal the exact amount, but according to the sources, the company secured approximately ₹3.22 Crore ($500,000).

The funding round saw participation from Mekin Maheshwari, former head of engineering and chief people officer at Flipkart, Bharat Vijay, former Yahoo and Amazon executive, former Facebook and Zynga executive Krish Seshadri and former Google executive and founder of Infoworks Amar Arsikere. Apart from this, Harvard Angels, Cisco, Intel, Qualcomm and Oracle also contributed to this round.

Vikram Kumar, CEO of ExploreLifeTraveling commented that “We only provide homes for accommodations. We want people to live with the locals and live the local way. In India, the concept of the homestay is a semi-commercial venture. But in our case, it is not so. We are solving the trust issue, where people open up their houses, the company has not started rendering services into hotels, resorts or serviced apartments.”

Travel-tech startups are emerging as one of the most favorite sectors for investors, they are investing more money and promoting startups so that they can get recognition across the country. Previously in March, Gurgaon-based Le Travenues Technology Pvt. Ltd, which operates online travel search engine ixigo, had raised ₹9600 Crore ($15 million) in a Series B round led by Sequoia Capital.
