Facebook is set to organise its first India Startup Day in Delhi on October 9, in order to celebrate the thriving Indian startups and entrepreneurs.
The global tech giant will recognise Indian entrepreneurs and leaders, who are using technology to bring about positive changes in the society.
“India Startup Day is our way of reaffirming our commitment to help enable the developer and startup community through our tech programs, and to support entrepreneurs who are building the future,” said Facebook.
The various awards categories under which the startups will be given awards include, She Leads Tech, Building for the World, Building for Tomorrow, Building for the next Billion, and Community Builder.
According to Facebook, the startups will be judged based on their innovation, traction, disruption, created in their individual field and the potential for future impact. A jury comprising of experts and stakeholders from the industry and Facebook will select the finalists.
The finalists will get an opportunity to pitch in front of the jury on 6th October, at Taj Yeshwantpur in Bangalore. The winners will be announced at the Facebook India Startup Day, held in Delhi on 9th October.
Facebook has been a part of the Indian startup ecosystem, working with entrepreneurs and startups to help them during various phases of growth through various programmes and initiatives.
