Fixpocket raises ₹1.7 crores in seed fundingFixpocket raises ₹1.7 crores in seed funding

Fixpocket, an Ahmedabad-based startup has raised ₹1.7 crores ($250K) from La Gajjar Group in the seed funding. La Gajjar group is an Ahmedabad based private investment group. The money raised will be used to set up an initial team, design & development of technology, and marketing activities during the early stages.

Fixpocket is an online marketplace for freelancers in India, it is based in Ahmedabad. It was first launched in April 2017, Fixpocket has also launched its iOS and Android apps recently. This freelancing website has over 100 categories and about 3500 microservice categories for users to choose. The number of members that are registered on the website is over 17000 and the total number of orders completed is about 2000.

Indian people possess unique skills but there are few platforms that understand those skills and provide them with the opportunity to showcase their skills. Fixpocket has tried to close this gap by providing a cohesive platform for Indian people and their skillset.

Soham Thacker, Co-Founder, Fixpocket said, “Fixpocket was conceptualized by identifying the gap of microservices in the freelancing market. People in India possess a variety of skills but the market lacks a platform for these skills to be publicized and monetized. We have established a special Corporate Management team that reaches out to large and mid-sized companies, educating them about the beneficial use of Fixpocket and how it can help them reduce fixed overheads by outsourcing their work. Fixpocket also has the vision to create an international marketplace for the workforce of over 15 million freelancers that India has to offer.”

Fixpocket is trying to reach out to the large and mid-sized companies by educating them about the benefits of outsourcing and how they can provide a good platform where quality service can be provided at reasonable prices.

Freelancer, Truelancer, and Guru are a few online freelancing platforms that provide stiff competition to Fixpocket. Fixpocket will have to make a unique identity for itself if it needs to survive and provide a competition to these already established platforms.
