India’s biggest eCommerce company, Flipkart has introduced an all new technology to safeguard the expensive shipments. The technology will safeguard the shipments which include mobile phones, laptops, tablets and expensive watches. This is done in order to make sure that no one can temper with the packaging once it is shipped by the seller.
Flipkart is currently waiting for a patent approval for the technology and it is expected to roll out the new packaging in the coming weeks. In a statement, Flipkart stated that the new packaging will need a lot of efforts and confidential information to open and reseal the packaging. This will make sure that the delivery person or anyone can not tamper with it while the shipment is in transit.
Off late, there has been an increase in the number of cases where customers received faulty products from the eCommerce companies including Flipkart and Amazon. Such stories have gone viral on social media many times and resulted in the loss of trust on the seller and the platform.
With this new technology in place, Flipkart will be able to re-establish the trust of the buyers and will be able to control the return rate, which resulted in a huge loss to sellers as they had to pay the shipping fee, even for the returned products.
