SaaS-based customer engagement platform Freshworks, which was earlier known as Freshdesk, has announced the appointment of Sidharth Malik as its chief revenue officer.

In this role, Sidharth Malik will focus on accelerating revenue growth and will lead all the global go-to-market teams, said the company in a statement. Girish Mathrubootham, CEO of Freshworks, said,

We are very excited to have Sidharth join Freshworks at a key inflection point in our journey. We believe his valuable experience in building global teams, expanding markets and growing revenues makes him an ideal choice to further accelerate our growth at Freshworks.

Commenting on his appointment, Sidharth Malik said:

With its refreshing suite of business software, I believe we are well positioned to transform the way our customers engage with their customers and employees.

Malik is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, and also brings over 22 years of global experience in the IT industry to Freshworks. He has previously worked in sales leadership and general management roles at Microsoft, IBM, Salesforce and most recently, Akamai Technologies.

Prior to joining Freshworks, he worked at Akamai for over five year, where he served as the managing director, overseeing all operations of the company in India.

Earlier this year, in June, Freshdesk created a new umbrella brand named Freshworks, and brought together the company’s growing suite of business software. In addition to its flagship helpdesk product Freshdesk, the company has also introduced new products for IT service management, customer relationship management and cloud-based call centres.
