Hansel.io raises ₹27 crores in a round led by Vertex VenturesHansel.io raises ₹27 crores in a round led by Vertex Ventures

Bengaluru-based Hansel.io, real-time mobile app management startup, has raised around ₹27 crores ($4 million) in a fresh funding round led by Vertex Ventures. Existing investors that participated in the round include IDG Ventures India and Endiya Partners.

The fresh funds will be used to boost the expansion plans in the international markets, including the United States. It will also help accelerate hiring talent in engineering and sales departments.

Hansel.io was founded by former Flipkart executives  Varun Ramamurthy, Parminder Singh and Mudit Mathur in 2015. The startup uses its product Experience Lake to enable its clients to personalize user product experience by decoupling the interface from the code. This helps its clients to deliver quicker product changes without the hassle of involving the tech team for every minor update.

“Historically, companies have struggled to emulate the rapid pace with which the top four tech giants test and personalize product experiences. Hansel’s technology helps its customers drive new product experiences without getting bottlenecked at code,” said Piyush Kharbanda, Executive Director at Vertex Ventures.

Hansel’s product is available on Android and iOS devices, along with web and common backend platforms. It can be seamlessly integrated with any existing A/B testing and personalization setup.

Some of its notable clients include Paytm, Ola, MobiKwik, MakeMyTrip, Cleartrip, and Toppr, among many others.

Last year in January, Hansel.io had raised $1.35 million in its seed funding round led by IDG Ventures, along with participation from Endiya Partners.

Also, in February 2016, the startup had raised an undisclosed amount of funds in a round led by Endiya Partners, along with Tracxn Labs, angel investors Mekin Maheswari and Rajesh Sawhney, among others.

Hansel.io’s investor Vertex Ventures is a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage technology companies in Southeast Asia and India region. It is focused on three key areas in the region, Mobile/Internet, Tech-Enabler, and Services. Some of its prominent investments in India include Firstcry, XpressBees, Yatra.com, among others.
