Financial education website IndianMoney appoints Siddharth Mehra as new chief financial officer

Harmeet Singh has been appointed as the new CEO of the SaaS-based travel tech company RateGain in order to elevate the company’s growth, cited ET.

Following Harmeet Singh‘s appointment, Bhanu Chopra, founder and CEO of RateGain has been given the role of chairman in the company, said RateGain.

Chopra, on Singh’s roles as the CEO, said that Singh has experience in mergers and acquisitions segment, which would help RateGain to build a complete suite of digital products focusing on the travel and hospitality sector.

RateGain was founded by Bhanu Chopra in 2004. The platform RateGain offers a range of services to travel and hospitality firms, primarily on how to increase their revenue, including providing AI and machine learning-based real time intelligence on when to opt for surge pricing, depending on factors such as weather conditions, possible events and how the competitors are pricing themselves, to managing distribution of their rates to other online portals.

“I plan to focus sharply on disruptive product strategy while supporting Singh in identifying new opportunities for growth and scaling our current business,” Chopra stated.

Singh, on the other hand, said that RateGain has the opportunity to leverage the transformation in the business models being adopted by the travel and hospitality sector.

“I look forward to working with Chopra and the RateGain family to rapidly grow our business and expand our leadership position,” he added.

Singh is a former executive partner with Madison Deaborn Partners in their prior telecom, media and technology division.

Singh’s portfolio also include the role as a president of cloud services at technology company J2 Global.

In June this year, RateGain acquired BCV Social for INR 175- 200 crore, which allowed RateGain to offer clients a comprehensive guest experience cloud platform, through a variety of digital products, designed to increase direct sales, provide improved guest interactions and mitigate negative experiences.

RateGain works with some of the world’s largest online travel operators, hotel chains, airlines, car rental chains and cruise lines, counts the likes of SoftBank-backed hospitality chain OYO, Nasdaq-listed MakeMyTrip, the Taj Group of hotels and IndiGo Airlines among its clients in India.
