Bengaluru-based healthtech startup HealthPlix has raised ₹20.5 crores ($3 million) in series A funding from IDG Ventures and Kalaari Capital. The funds raised will be used to boost its technology and expand its various medical specialities. It will also be looking to acquire talent and expand its services to other geographical markets.

HealthPlix provides a platform that helps doctors enhance their efficiency and productivity by digitally assisting hospitals through its assistive-AI driven EMR (Electronic Medical Records). It was co-founded by Raghuraj Sunder Raju, Sandeep Gudibanda and Prasad Basavaraj in 2014.

The platform offers facilities like e-prescription, billing, mobile app, pharmacy, and lab, providing a comprehensive treatment solution for the patients. Doctors have experience in medical specialities including Endocrinology, Diabetology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Oncology & Internal Medicine.

Over 1.2 million patients are treated by doctors spanning 150 cities across 20 states with the help of HealthPlix EMR. It is also worth noting that over 60%of its patients are from tier 2 and tier 3 towns and beyond. It helps that the platform also provides the doctors with an option to give prescriptions in more than 18 languages, making it easier for its patients to understand and enhances patient compliance.

While making the announcement, Sandeep Gudibanda, Co-Founder & CEO of HealthPlix, said, “Population level health problems can be better managed if digital tools assist doctors at the time of treating their patients. Our goal at HealthPlix is to drive better Health Outcomes by enabling widespread adoption of our platform. HealthPlix software is lot more than just an EMR. Its assistive-AI goes 4 levels deep: It adapts to doctors’ speciality, their practice preference, patient’s disease and the stage of the disease.”

Healthcare is expected to be one of the biggest revenue and employment generating sector in the country. No wonder more and more startups are looking to focus on the healthcare industry with the help of technology.

Some big players in the Indian healthcare domain include MedPlus, 1mg, NetMeds, Zoctr, Lybrate, LifCare, among many others.
