HungerBox has secured around ₹30 crores ($4.5 million) in series A funding round led by South Korea based investment firm Neoplux and India focussed PE fund, Sabre Partners. Other investors include Lionrock Capital based in Singapore and Kris Gopalakrishnan, Cofounder of Infosys.

The company said that the funds raised will be used to support its rapid growth in India and also fuel the company’s expansion in the South East Asian market.

HungerBox is a full stack B2B food tech company that delivers food solutions for the corporates in India. It was founded in 2016 by Sandipan Mitra and Uttam Kumar.

It has a staff of more than 400 across the country and the team behind HungerBox comprises of veterans in the food tech industry, including both the founders. It is also backed by the GrowthStory, an investor in ventures like BigBasket, Portea, BlueStone, etc.

It clocks over six million orders a month across 160 digital cafeterias for more than 75 corporates clients, including Qualcomm, Microsoft, FirstSource, Accenture, Capgemini, Genpact, McKinsey and Amazon. HungerBox is available in major cities like  Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi/NCR, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Kolkata.

HungerBox uses the latest technology like IoT to help connect the vendors to the corporate employees. It also provides personalized features like Recommendations, Health Mode, etc. using its AI-based technology.

The growth of HungerBox has made it a leader in the food tech industry and the vast amount of experience its team has will surely come in handy as expansion starts.
