If you don’t have control on your smartphone after getting drunk then here is something for you, DrnkPay is a smartphone app that stops users from making purchases or to make any kind of transactions from your card, while drunk, which is apparently something people end up regretting. This app is developed by UK financial consultancy company iBe TSE, after research it was found that many of the British people regret a purchase made when drunk. The survey inspired iBe TSE in a huge amount to make something like that. The survey also stated that people have also bought things while intoxicated, like flying lessons, a rowing club lifetime membership for someone who doesn’t row, 30 pairs of flip flops, and even a live chicken.

Francesco Scarnera, CEO of iBe TSE mentioned that “This is a problem many of us have encountered, so we decided to create a simple solution which uses the latest technology”. “People can fix their limit and once they reached to it, the app will lock your card and prevent you making further payments. It’s up to you whether to block all payments, or just certain weak points.”
People might have a question about how your phone get to know about this, whether you are drunk or not? Well, that’s why people have to use companion Breathalyzer after connecting it to your smartphone and sends data to the DrnkPay app whenever you blow in it. If the app thinks that you are drunk then within no time your card will be blocked for 12 hours, which a company believes is plenty of time to sober up. There are people might have a problem in using Breathalyzer in public, so the app also have alternatives like, biosensor, which constantly analyses the alcohol content in the user’s bloodstream.

To make use of DrnkPay, users obviously have to link their credit/debit cards to the app. People can also set limit of drink they wish to have, according to their capacity and the app will only block the cards if they go over it. This app also have a feature called “Help me out”, which calls you an emergency Uber to take you home, if you are so drunk. They are also welcoming application from banks to get associated and to make this app more effective.
