Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur and Bangalore have collaborated to launch the ‘Women Startup Program 2020’. The vision of this program is to strengthen women entrepreneurs by empowering their ideas or concepts into business and enriching their administrative and management skills. The programme, claims IIM-Nagpur, focuses on providing entrepreneurs, especially from Tier-II and Tier-III cities, accessible and affordable learning to develop their capabilities.

The first phase of the program will have the group having preliminary stage start-up ideas which are within 12 months old. The five-week training program will be launched on the Swayam platform through Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). A set of entrepreneurs will be selected for the two-month virtual launchpad program, followed by a six-month incubation program during the second and third phases of the vision. These programs are designed by for Entrepreneurship Development (InFED), the incubator of IIM-Nagpur and NSRCEL, the startup and innovation hub.

The applicants should submit their product or prototype by the end of the program. This is evaluated by the panel of judges. The candidates will have access to legal and compliance support extended to all alumni of the program. They shall also get the opportunity to reach out to the investors. The students are watched and supported throughout the program. IIM-Nagpur tells that these students are also supported by InFED and NSRCEL, including physical and virtual infrastructure.

Interested students can apply at the official website – nsrcel.org – at free of cost. The last date for the application is August 21. Women who are Indian nationals and above 18-years of age, having a full-time or co-ownership of a venture can apply. Many programs such as MPWE, Women Startup Program, and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women, NSRCEL impacted more than 15,000 women entrepreneurs.
