Startup Oasis, a Jaipur-based startup incubation centre, has announced the list of six startups that have been selected for the funding of ₹1.7 crore.
The incubation centre invested in these startups under its Innovative Ventures and Technologies for Development (Invent) programme. Four startups out of selected six are founded in Rajasthan, while the remaining two are based in Madhya Pradesh.
The six startups that have been selected for the funding include Krimanshi Technologies, KBSS, Merapaper, Multibhashi, Carmel Organics and Khadigi.
Krimasnshi Technologies, which runs Cattle Mettle, provides cattle feed and nutrients made from waste. Merapaper provides digital solution for newspaper distributors and their customers for the billing and payment need.
KBSS partners with profit, non-profit organisations and government agencies on imparting skill training. Multibhashi has developed a mobile app allowing users to learn languages most effectively and effortlessly.
Carmel Organics supports a social cause by enabling small and marginal farmers to organically grow medicinal herbs, herbal tea and spices while KhadiJi claims to be the first online luxury store creating products made exclusively from khadi Cotton and Silk.
The “Invent” programme was started last year by the UK government’s Department of International Development and Technology Development Board. It aims to lend support and fund social impact startups sprouting from eight low-income states of the Indian subcontinent.
While Chennai-based Villgro has taken up the responsibility of being the lead incubator for the programme, Startup Oasis has started implementing the programme in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
