Reliance Jio‘s health and wellness app, JioHealthHub has partnered with Coimbatore-based medical consultation app iCliniq. This partnership will help Reliance Jio to establish a strong presence in medical consultation space leveraging the expertise of its partner.

Jio users will be able to consult doctors across 60 specialities, though this partnership with iCliniq. It will also offer a service called #icliniq50 that will help users to chat with doctors immediately.

This partnership is among a long list of partnerships JioHealthHub is cultivating to help provide online medical consultation services to its users. It had also partnered with home healthcare provider Portea, among others.

Industry sources have speculated that JioHealthHub is looking to enter deeper into the healthcare sector as it plans on providing a 360-degree platform. Jio’s entry into the healthcare sector could pose a threat to many budding healthtech startups in the country, owing to its deep pockets, experience in multiple sectors, and its vast network.

iCliniq is an online doctor consultation platform, it was founded by Dhruv Suyamprakasam in 2012. It provides various channels for its users to seek consultation from doctors, including, through its online forum, booking a face-to-face video conference. iCliniq has highly qualified medical practitioners, physicians, and therapists from all across the world including US, UK, India, Singapore, Germany, among others.

iCliniq has over 2,500 doctors from more than 80 specialities on its platform, tending to patients from across 196 countries.

“Jio is disrupting the Indian healthcare market ecosystem. It has huge capabilities and is looking closely at the platform business,” said Dhruv Suyamprakasam, CEO, iCliniq
