UClean, a startup that offers laundry and home cleaning services, has announced that it has secured around Rs. 4 crore in its pre-Series A funding round from US-based angel investor Anubhav Chopra. Last month, the startup had secured Rs. 6.5 crore from Franchise India Holdings and Anubhav Chopra.

The newly raised funding will now be used by the startup to enter the dry-cleaning segment with ‘UClean Select’. The company is also looking forward to launching UClean mobile application for end-user convenience.

Anubhav Chopra has also invested in setting up the first ever ‘UClean Select’ store which is the company’s offering in premium dry cleaning for clothes and bags. The company is foraying in the dry clean segment with its first UClean Select store in South Delhi’s Defence Colony area.

Arunabh Sinha, Founder, and CEO of the company said in a statement, “At UClean, it is an endeavor to cater to all the cleaning requirements inside a household and are delighted to launch ‘UClean Select’, our first ever ‘Dry Cleaning store’ that will create cleaner and safer environment. We would be building UClean Select on the lines of UClean through the franchise route and would be targeting around 50 franchises of UClean Select by 2020.”

Ever since UClean started its business in October 2016, the company has been on a mission to build India’s first organized chain of laundry and home cleaning stores, focused on fostering the DIY (Do It Yourself) culture.

The company has partnered US-based Alliance Laundry Systems for equipment, know-how an, training. Bollywood actors Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu are the startup’s brand ambassadors and strategic partners but says that they haven’t invested in the company.

Earlier this year, in February 2018, the integrated laundry services provider entered the home cleaning space with Mint Clean. It operates as an on-demand direct-to-home cleaning and home health company, which will offer door to door cleaning solutions through a “man and van” model.
