Jaipur-based MEngage, a healthcare startup has raised ₹1.2 crores ($175,000) in seed funding from a number of angel investors. Some of the investors that participated in this round include Siddharth Agarwal, chief executive officer, Silk Asia and president of TiE Rajasthan, Mahavir Sharma, Chairman, Rajasthan Angel Innovators Network (RAIN), along with Amit Singal, co-founder & CEO, Startup Buddy.
The funds raised will be used for the development of the technology platform, along with expansion to tier-1 cities.
MEngage, a doctor-patient engagement platform that helps the doctors connect with their patients with the help of a SaaS-based app. It was founded by Manmohan Singh, an ex-TCS executive, and Pulkit Raturi in 2015.
It was part of the first batch of startups that were incubated at Jaipur-based mobile tech accelerator 100 Co-founders Lab.
This app keeps track of all the patient appointments and medical history, making it easy for doctors to devise a more personalized treatment plan for the customer based on his medical history. Among other features, it has the facility to set appointments, schedule medication reminders, notifications and a chat facility for instant communication between paitent and doctor.
It provides a comprehensive experience making the patient-doctor engagement much smoother and effective. It is all done with the use of technology without compromising the privacy of the patients. The app generates revenue by charging a nominal subscription fee from the doctors.
As of May 2018, the app has over 180 registered doctors, along with an active patient base of 9500. The app began its operations with pediatricians and have expanded their operations ever since.
There has been a growth in health-tech startup considering the venture capital funds and investors are focusing on this space to invest. Some of the players in this space along with MEngage include PregBuddy, Doxper, BeatO, among many others. Another health-tech startup, Navia Care Pvt. Ltd has raised ₹67 lakhs in seed funding recently.
