Gurugram-based online car servicing startup GoMechanic has raised ₹105 crores in series B round led by Chiratae Ventures and Sequoia Capital, reported Inc42. Existing investor Orios Venture Partners also participated in the round.

The funds raised will be used to expand presence across other geographies in India.

Founded by Amit Bhasin, Kushal Karwa, Nitin Rana and Rishabh Karwa in 2016, GoMechanic offers a seamless car service experience to its customers through its network of technology-enabled car service centres. With more than 150 workshops spread across the country, the startup claims to have serviced more than 2 million cars so far.

Talking about the importance of leveraging existing workshop infrastructure, Amit Bhasin, co-founder of GoMechanic, said, “The decision to use the existing infrastructure only and upgrade the same, rather than setting up our own ground up, helped us with speed-to-market and with the fundamental understanding of the domain.”

With the car repair market being oversupplied with more than 300,000 multi-brand garages across the country, the startup claims that car owners can avail repair services at about 40% less than those of general workshops in the organized market.

Other Indian startups working in the space include CleanseCar, SparesHub, Cartisan, FirstU and Pitstop, among many others.

According to Crunchbase, earlier this year CleanseCar raised $2 million in seed funding from investors like Venture Catalysts, Alfa Ventures, Apoorv Ranjan Sharma, among others.
