India’s leading hospitality startup OYO has announced its foray into the upscale hotels, starting with a stellar range of resorts, christened as Palette Resorts. It will be curating a range of resorts that will offer exclusively designed staycations to customers seeking intuitive experience at competitive prices.
This news comes soon after it launched its customer membership program OYO Wizard, to reward loyal customers.
OYO has successfully captured the budget hotels market in India and is now looking to establish itself in the premium category with its new initiative.
Talking about the new initiative, Maninder Gulati, chief of strategy, OYO, said, “With Palette by OYO, we are expanding our playfield to upscale resorts, while remaining committed to our core value proposition – location, quality, and price. These are hand-picked, premium accommodations that guarantee a memorable, predictable yet wonderful vacation experience for our guests, by leveraging our technology and operational capabilities.”
Softbank-backed OYO is partnering with select resorts that offer amenities including spacious and aesthetically designed rooms, private villas and beaches, gourmet dining, spa and other recreational provisions, in order to provide a luxurious experience to its customers.
It has announced to start service from a beautiful location in Pondicherry, naming Palette Resort, Le Pondy. It will be looking to expand the service to other locations based on learnings and feedback from asset owners and guests, to improve the experience.
OYO has a presence in more than 160 cities with over 5,500 hotel chains across countries like India, Malaysia, China, and Nepal.
Along with strengthening its hospitality segment, OYO has been foraying into new domains.
Earlier this month, OYO acquired wedding planning startup Weddingz, to strengthen its wedding vertical. It forayed into the wedding domain with its “Auto Party” venture last month.
Last month, OYO also acquired AblePlus, an IoT startup, to provide a more customized and personalised experience to its customers.
