Paytm Mall

In a bid to support offline retailers, Paytm Mall has announced that it will not charge any commission from mobile, laptop & large retailers, during the festive season sale. The move is aimed at promoting and building relationships with offline retailers by helping them pocket larger profits.

Paytm Mall, the e-commerce arm of digital payments giant Paytm, is looking to strengthen both offline and online channels, to enhance customer experience. The latest move will help its retail partners like Croma, Reliance Digital, Big Bazaar, and brand partners including Asus, Samsung, Dell, Oppo, and Vivo.

In a blog post, Paytm Mall, said, “This festive season, we are the only online platform that does not compete with retailers. Instead, we believe in promoting growth across both online as well as offline retail.”

Earlier in the month, it was reported that Paytm Mall had partnered with 100 FMCG brands, to drive sales through its online-to-offline (O2O) model.

The e-commerce platform is helping brands to provide better offers across both online and offline channels, through the O2O model. It will also help Paytm Mall, reach offline customers, to deepen its market penetration, offering enhanced customer experience.

With the festive season sales already on the way, Paytm Mall competes with the two e-commerce leaders in the Indian market, US-based Amazon and homegrown Flipkart.

In a battle for market dominance, Paytm Mall is offering huge cashbacks worth ₹501 crores, during the festive season sale.

Last month, Amazon slashed storage charges, along with seller fees, across five categories, to onboard more sellers, to offer more choice to customers, ahead of the festive season sale.

In August 2018, Flipkart had reduced commission across low price categories, to attract more sellers on its platform, gearing up for the festive season.

The jury is still out on how effective all their initiatives, schemes, and offers prove out to be during the grand sales.
