Nurturing Green, a Delhi-NCR based startup has raised an undisclosed amount of funding led by Vijay Shekhar Sharma (Paytm), Mohit Goel (Omaxe Limited), Suraj Nangia (Nangia Advisors), and others. The startup intends to use the capital to tie up with supermarkets across India, and open over 200 stores to sell directly to the consumer.

The plant gifting startup Nurturing Green, was started by Annu Grover in 2009. The aim was to bring special, unique theme based plants for gifting, home decor, gardening, landscaping, and corporate gifting.

However, an intuitive story is behind the inception of the Nurturing Green.

The idea of Nurturing Green came to exist when Annu Grover’s mother, placed his son’s given flowers into the garbage on the very next day of its delivery because the flowers were no longer pleasing to the eye.

Thus, that was the moment, Annu realised that there was a real need for change and soon blossomed the idea of Nurturing Green.

“We are also looking at building the online-to-offline channel, which includes quick delivery of our product across 11 cities because our new-age audience wants instant gratification, especially when it comes to gifting,” said Grover.

“In 2019-2020, we are working towards two of our big missions, understanding the inflexion of the industry and achieving cumulative revenue of the last 100 months in the next 11 months. We also want to reach a target of 1,00,000 units sold per month,” added Annu.

The flowers offered by Nurturing Green ranges from ₹99 to ₹3,000. It competes with the likes of Exotic Greens and Green Grower.

At present, the startup has grown close to three times against last year, it had revenue of Rs 12 crore. Also, it is looking to develop its first digital strategy to boost its e-commerce sales.
