Tork Motors, an electric vehicle startup, is all set to raise an undisclosed amount of funding from Ratan Tata, cited ET.

Earlier in June this year, the Pune-based Tork Motors, has bagged funds from Bharat Forge and Bhavish Aggarwal, founder of Ola Cabs.

“In the last few years, there has been a sea of changes in the attitude towards electric vehicles. This industry is changing rapidly and I place good value on the sound logic and the approach that the team at Tork Motors has taken,” Ratan Tata, chairman at Tata Sons said.

Tork Motors is gearing up to launch its flagship electric motorcycle in the next few months.

Tork Motors, headquarted in Pune, was founded by Kapil Shelke in 2016. It is an electric vehicle startup that manufactures electric racing motorbikes. The platform Tork Motors is an electric drivetrain company which focuses on electric two-wheelers and premium electric motorcycles.

“An investment by him is an endorsement of the long-held belief by us that the Indian auto sector is goin through a phase of huge growth and transformation,” Kapil Shelke, founder and CEO at Tork Motors, said.
