Indian healthtech startup SigTuple is among the top 10 startups selected to participate in Google Demo Day Asia. It is scheduled to take place in Shanghai on the 20th of September.

Other selected startups include DycodeX from Indonesia, FreightExchange from Australia, GITAI from Japan, Marham from Pakistan, Miotech from China, OneStockHome, Origami Labs from Hong Kong, SkyMagic from Singapore, and Swingvy from Korea.

To meet the selection criteria every startup must have raised at least $50,000, must be seeking to raise at least $1-5 million within the six months of the event and must be confident in presenting in English.

“Out of the 305 qualifying applications, the 10 finalists will take the final stage at Demo Day Asia,” said Michael Kim, Partnerships Manager, Google for Entrepreneurs, in a blog post.

These finalists will be pitching in front of the panel that consists of leaders from Google for Entrepreneurs, Sequoia Capital China, and Venturra Capital. The winning startup can expect to win prizes such as funding from investors, along with $100,000 in Google Platform Cloud credits.

SigTuple creates intelligent screening solutions to aid diagnosis through AI-powered analysis of visual medical data. It was founded by Apurv Anand, Bharath Cheluvaraju, Rohit Pandey, and Tathagato Dastidar in 2015.

The startup provides an AI platform named Manthana, to efficiently help in the analysis of visual medical data. Manthana has enabled the startup to work on five major high volume, screening processing of the healthcare industry including analysis of peripheral blood smears, urine microscopy, semen, fundus & OCT scans, and chest x-rays.

SigTuple last raised $19 million in a series B funding round in June 2018, led by IDG Ventures and Accel Partners, with participation from other investors including Binny Bansal, Endiya Partners, Axilor Ventures, Trifecta Capital, among others.
