Times Internet, the subsidiary of Times of India Group for the internet-related businesses, has announced that it has acquired House of God, a mobile application that provides spiritual content. However, details of the transaction remains undisclosed.

The startup was incubated at Eros Labs, which is the incubation centre from the media giant Eros International. Times Internet said this acquisition will help the company to address spiritually inclined audiences across India.

Commenting on this, Gautam Sinha, CEO of Times Internet, said in a statement:

Our user base has continuously asked for innovative products and services in the religious and spiritual interest category. Consistent to our strategy of catering to a mobile-first audience base in India, the House of God acquisition will extend our leadership in spiritual content experiences.

Ram Chandra, founder of House of God, said:

From this moment House of God begins a new chapter, where we look forward to serving our audience better content, leveraging Times Internet’s deep data and technology-driven approach to understand our customers’ intricate spiritual needs and thereby curate new innovative features to delight them.

House of God aims to be aims to be the one-stop destination for spiritual and religious needs of people in India and overseas. It has a library of religious content with videos from several different temples.

The mobile app from the company contains content for Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism, Islam and Sufism that includes live darshans, lectures and pooja offerings. There are offline commerce services such as online prasad and shopping for devotees across all religion as well.
