In a completely different startup domain, TNQ Technologies, a publishing technology and services company, headquartered in Chennai, has infused $2 million (approx ₹14 crore) in InGage, an augmented reality and virtual reality solution provider. The investment has been made in a JV (joint venture) to launch TNQ InGage.

The joint venture will focus on developing technology solutions using Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Mixed Reality (AR, VR, MR) integrated with IoT and analytics, for enterprises in the healthcare, manufacturing, and construction industries.

“TNQ Technologies is a 21-year-old, 2,500 people-strong company focussed on publishing technologies and services. We see the future of content consumption leveraging immersive AR and VR environments, and have made this investment in TNQ InGage as part of our long-term strategy. The extensive work InGage has done over the last six years under Vijay’s leadership, and the strong relationships with prestigious customers and partners, makes me confident that we have the right ingredients to establish ourselves as a leader in this technology and industry,” Abhigyan Arun, CEO, TNQ Technologies, said.

TNQ Technologies was founded in 1998. It is a publishing technology and services company, which serves some of the world’s largest STM publishers and prestigious learned societies.

The company’s technology products assist the publication of millions of articles and books, and are used by over 3 million authors and researchers.

The company specialises in providing Roman-script composition and XML-first production processes. Its efficient workflows and ML/AI driven production technologies serve to deliver quick turnarounds at competitive prices.

Whereas, InGage was founded by Vijay Karunakaran in 2012. It is India’s leading digital customer engagement company specializing in a patented technology that blends Augmented Reality and 3D animation to engage audiences and build brands.

InGage is a media creation studio providing creative, live action, motion design, animation and post-production services to entertainment studios, advertising agencies and corporations throughout the world, as per its website.

The joint venture will be focussing investments towards product R&D to improve human interaction with virtual objects, through haptics and photo-realistic rendering.
