Uber, an international unicorn startup, has started its bike-riding services with the launch of ‘BikeShare‘ app in Delhi, reported Inc42.
The BikeShare will enable users to ride with another bike-rider going the same way. The newly-launched BikeShare works with regular bikes that are already plying on the road.
The launched was announced through a twitter handle of Uber India, which states- Delhi your first two-wheeler Uber ride is here. Now you can ride along with a fellow Delhiite going your way with Uber BikeShare. It just got easier to #LeaveYourCarBehind
The base fare of the BikeShare app is INR 9 and the company is charging INR 2.5 per km. While, any ride to the closest metro station will cost only about INR 5.
Uber Technologies Inc. is an American multinational transportation network company (TNC) offering services that include peer-to-peer ridesharing, ride service hailing, food delivery, and a bicycle-sharing system.
The company is based out of San Francisco and has operations in 785 metropolitan areas worldwide. Its platforms can be accessed via its websites and mobile apps.
Besides BikeShare, other applications, operating under the similar roof include Rapido, OlaBike, Jugnoo, Dunzo, and many more.
