There has always been a considerable deal of ignorance for the feminine to get the right lingerie. Be it the social embarrassment or shyness that has led to it because the physical stores have mostly Masculine attendees for such products. Not only the social awkwardness but also the scarcity in sizes available and lack of branded products in such stores has added to the negligence of this sector in India, which could well be boosted. Zivame, an E-commerce store for lingerie and various shape wears of women came into the picture to simplify the buying process and make it enormously feasible for the customers to get the right set of products without compromising their privacy.

Foundation

Zivame got its inception in June 2011, by Richa Kar, a BITS Pilani, and NMIMS alumni and headquarter being situated at Bangalore, India. She was working at SAP as a retail consultant, on an assignment, to study about a global lingerie brand and that is when she realized the problems faced by Indian customers while buying lingerie and came up with this project with the intention to streamline the process. The name Zivame denotes a “Shinning me”.

Funding

Zivame showed good initial response and support from the customers and the market seemed to be very promising, which led to investors provide valuable funding for its growth. It has by far raised funding of $US 50 million.

  • It raised a finding of $US 40 million in Series C funding by Zodius Capital and Khazanah Nasional on Sep 3, 2015.
  • It raised a finding of $US 6 million in Series B funding by Zodius Capital and Khazanah Nasional on Dec 10, 2013.
  • It raised a finding of $US 3 million in Series A funding by IDG Ventures and Kalaari Capital on March 14, 2012.

Product & Competition

Zivame has an exquisite collection of lingerie, nightwear, innerwear, sportswear and other shapewear. It has got its product range to cover almost all the categories of women shapewear. It has an online portal to showcase its entire product exceptional shopping experience to the customers. Its competitors are Clovia, Cilory, Shyaway, Buttercups, Mylace, StrapsAndStrings, ShopImagine, OyeGirl, and HerStyle.
