The ongoing entry-level 4G smartphone war is getting furious day by day. After Bharti Airtel launching a 4G smartphone in collaboration with Karbonn for INR 1,399. Now, the telecom provider has partnered with Celkon to launch another smartphone priced slightly less than that.

Even the Celkon smart 4G comes under the initiative programme called “Mera Pehla smartphone”. The interested buyers have to make an upfront payment of INR 2,846 to receive the device. Then, if the user continues to recharge either of the one plans, after 16 months he is entitled to receive INR 500 cash back and after 36 months he will receive INR 1000 rupees cash back.

Combo plans from Airtel:

The plans offered for this smartphone are similar as that of the Karbonn A40. So, a user can go with INR 169 per month plan which offers up to 0.5 GB of 4G LTE data with free incoming and outgoing voice calls all over India. A user can also recharge worth of INR 3000 for the first 18 months and INR 3000 for the next 18 months will also ensure the users to receive similar cashback combos. So, one has to spend INR 6000 + 1349 rupees = 7349 rupees to enjoy the 3 years of smartphone usage.

Tech specifications for the Celkon smart 4G:

The Celkon smart 4G offers a 4.0-inch WVGA IPS LCD screen, protected by 2.5D curved tempered glass on the top. Under the hood, the device is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad-core SoC, paired with 1 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 8 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot (up to 64 GB).

As the camera capabilities are concerned, the device offers a 3.2 MP rear-facing camera and a 2 MP front-facing selfie camera with 720p video recording capability. The device offers a dual SIM card slot with 4G LTE and VoLte capability on both the slots (which given a slight edge over the JioPhone which just has a single SIM card slot)

Smart entertainment requirements like 3.5 mm headphone jack, analogue FM radio are also present. However, compared to Airtel smartphone from Karbonn, the device runs on two-year-old Android Marshmallow operating system. Last but not the least, the device offers a user replaceable 1500 mAh battery with normal charging capability.
