Kult India has launched a new entry-level smartphone under the $100 price tag. For the beginners, this device does pack all the features that are missed on the Nokia 2 and the Xiaomi Redmi 5A. For the price tag of ₹5,999, the Kult Ambition is the entry-level killer smartphone that we are all been waiting for.
Just like its previous launches, the smartphone-maker has partnered with Amazon India. So, the device will be exclusively available on Amazon from December 11th.
To begin with the build quality, the smartphone offers a full plastic unibody design and we are impressed by the way the design has been offered. Though this is not the best smartphone in terms of design, it does have the nerve to challenge any smartphone at this price tag. So, all black-design looks classy and goes well for the day to day usage.
Like all the smartphones (at this budget), the Kult Ambition packs a decent 5.0-inch 720p IPS LCD screen with conventional 16:9 aspect ratio. The display is rapped off with a 2.5D curved tempered glass, which is icing on the cake. The mastermind behind this display is the MediaTek’s MT6737 Quad-core SoC, paired with 3 GB LPDDR3 RAM. The smartphone does offer 32 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot (up to 32 GB). So, you get double the storage and RAM compared to the competitors.
The one feature that is found on the Kult Ambition and not on any other smartphone of this price tag is the fingerprint scanner. The smartphone offers a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, which can unlock the device in less than a quarter of a second. The device runs on an Android Nougat based operating system with the custom user interface.
On to the optics, the smartphone packs a 13 MP main shooter and a 5 MP selfie shooter. The video recording capability on both modules is limited to 720p. Strangely, both camera modules have their own flash unit, which should help the device in low lighting condition.
Connectivity on the Kult Ambition is no less either. The smartphone does offer dual SIM card slots with 4G LTE and VoLte capability on both the slots. The only downside on the smartphone is the battery, the device packs a theoretically smaller 2600 mAh Li-ion battery with normal charging capability via micro USB port.
So, Instead of Xiaomi Redmi 5A or the Nokia 2, this device offers a lot of features. If you are planning to get a new smartphone without much budget, then, you might consider this one.
