Amazon’s recent and top of the line e-book reader, the Amazon kindle Oasis is now available in India via Amazon.in. The device is priced at INR 21,999 for the WiFi only version and the 28,999 for the WiFi and 3G version, which offers free-data which can be used to surf download anything in the Amazon Kindle world.
This is also the first Kindle device which offers IPX8 waterproof and dust-proof rating, which means, the device can still function after being dropped in water with 2-meter depth up to a maximum time frame of 60 minutes. One can tweak with the setting to change fonts and make it look better according to once taste. One can align the text to either left or right to make it usable to both right handed and left handed user.
The Amazon Kindle Oasis also gets its own protective cover, which is being offered in water safe fabric and genuine leather priced at INR 2,999 and INR 3,999 respectively. The covers will be available in Indigo, Charcoal and Sandstone colours for fabric and Black or Merlot colours leather colours, which can also be used as the kickstand to use the device hand free. According to Amazon, the device can be fully charged within 2 hours using the standard 5W charger and can last for weeks on a single charge and the protective case also offers extended battery pack.
Both devices offer the same e-ink display which is found on most of the Amazon Kindle, however, this time around, the screen resolution is being increased to 300 pixels per inch, making the densest display. In terms of storage capability, the WiFi only model features 8 GB onboard flash storage and the WiFi + 3G models feature massive 32 GB onboard flash storage, which should be enough to keep thousands of e-books right into your device.
