We all knew that the HDM Global backed Nokia is launching a new smartphone in India on 31st October 2017. However, there are no clues what so ever from the brand regarding the article, which they are about to launch. A famous benchmarking platform AnTuTu estimates the probable specifications of the same (almost confirmed). Here we present you the same. According to AnTuTu, it’s Nokia 2, the cheapest smartphone from the Nokia till date (after HMD Global acquisition).

The device will feature an all plastic unibody design, which should resemble the Nokia Lumia 600 lineup (with flashy back panels and rugged structure). Regarding the pricing, the device is expected to be priced at INR 6000 ($99), which is INR 3,500 less than that of the Nokia 3 (retails for INR 9,499).

The Nokia 2 will come with a code name or internal name TA-1035, and the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 Quad-core entry-level SoC. It’s interesting to see the fact that, the same brand went with a MediaTek MT6737 Quad-core processor for Nokia 3 to cut the cost of the production, now the company has gone back to Qualcomm, as the brand is having difficulty in getting drivers for the MTK chipset (which plays in pivotal role in pushing software updates). This processor paired with 1 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 8 GB onboard storage (with a dedicated micro SD card) should be sufficient for the end line smartphone users.

As the display is concerned, the device will house a 720p IPS LCD panel, however, when it comes to the actual real estate, there aren’t any hints what so ever. So, one can expect either 4.7-inch or 5.0-inch display.

Coming to the camera department, the device hosts an 8 MP rear-facing shooter and a 5 MP front-facing selfie shooter. There are no further insights on the camera. However, one can expect to see similar camera experience as that of the Nokia 3 (which has same cameras). With respect to connectivity, the device will feature dual SIM card slots with 4G LTE and VoLte on both the slots, so, connectivity will not be a concern for Nokia 2 what so ever.

As the new entire Nokia lineup is based on the stock Android interface, the Nokia 2 will be powered by Stock Android Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box and will receive Oreo update in the future for sure. Last but not the least, the device is expected to feature a massive 4000 mAh non-user replaceable battery, which should last longer than any of our smartphones due to low footprint specifications.

So, at the price tag of INR 9,499 are you impressed with the specifications that have been provided? Can this Nokia smartphone stand against the major competitor like Xiaomi Redmi 4A? Share your views in the comments below.
