Apple, the premium tier new smartphone has a great news for the iPhone, iPad and Mac users. The Apple’s own voice assistance Siri now uses Google instead of Microsoft to search Google for searching online. This is applied to the portfolio (iOS and MacOS) on all the latest MacOS High Sierra update and iOS 11 running devices.

This might a great platform to Google, as there are more than 75 million iPhone users and plenty of Mac users. As a matter of fact, companies like Google and Microsoft will pay a hefty amount of money to keep them as the default search engine.

So, it looks like Microsoft have not paid according to the request made by Apple. Making Google, the only remaining search engine to grab the opportunity. As of now, there are no details regarding the exact deal. However, here is the official statement from Apple and Microsoft.

Google paid 1 Billion dollars last month to Apple to keep Google as their default search engine. This deal once again proves, who is the boss in search engine market.

Apple said that:

“Switching to Google as the web search provider for Siri, Search within iOS and Spotlight on Mac will allow these services to have a consistent web search experience with the default in Safari.”

Microsoft spokesperson said:

“We value our relationship with Apple and look forward to continuing to partner with them in many ways, including on Bing Image Search in Siri, to provide the best experience possible for our customers. As we move forward, given our work to advance the field of AI, we’re confident that Bing will be at the forefront of providing a more intelligent search experience for our customers and partners.”

What do you think about this deal? will this hurt Microsoft’s search engine (most of them don’t use it)?
