It looks like Apple,  the California tech giant has decided to continue the legacy of small-sized devices by launching the upgraded version of the Apple iPhone SE (2nd Edition) in early 2018 (probably in March). This device will be made for the countries like China and India, where there is a huge market for the premium smartphones, with a price tag less than $400 (₹24,000).

In terms of overall design and aesthetics, the company is expected to use the same chassis as that of the original iPhone SE with improved hardware and the latest software. So here is the speculated specifications list for the upcoming Apple iPhone SE 2nd Edition.

From the manufacturing point of view, the upcoming smartphone will be made in India (assembled) in the Wistron facility in namma Bengaluru. So, all the units sold (at least in India) will be made in India, which saves the import duty and the additional taxes on the company. However, according to the recent information, the Wistron has already started to Assemble the Apple iPhone SE 2nd edition in Bengaluru, to cope up with the supply and demand in the future. So, when the actual product launches, there will not be any out of stock boards in any retails stores or online e-commerce websites.

Looking at the actual tech specifications, the Apple iPhone SE 2nd edition is expected to borrow the internals from the Apple iPhone 7. The smartphone is expected to feature the same 4.0-inch display from the current generation iPhone SE, however, we are also speculating the 3D touch capability. The Touch ID will also be upgraded from the first generation scanner to the second generation scanner with button less action, just like the iPhone 7 and onwards.

Under the hood, the device will be powered by Apple A10 Fusion processor, which powers the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, paired with 2 GB LPDDR4x RAM and 32 GB and 128 GB flash storage options. The upcoming iPhone is also expected to feature standard 3.5 mm headphone jack, so, one can expect decent quality earphones inside the retail package.

As this design involves all-metal unibody design, the phone is not expected to feature wireless charging capability. Finally, coming to the camera capability, the iPhone is likely to use a 12 MP camera from the iPhone 7 with OIS and 4K video recording capability. Even the 1.2 MP selfie camera will be upgraded to 5 MP selfie shooter with portrait lightening. Lastly, the phone is expected to feature a 1700 sealed Li-ion battery with a complete day of usability on a single charge.

So, what do you think about the iPhone SE 2nd Edition? Will you upgrade your existing iPhone SE or iPhone 5S for a better iPhone at an affordable price tag? Share your views in the comment box.
