Macbook Air

Macbook was once in his trend earlier, but the scenario has changed ineffectively. The 11-inch MacBook Air is almost lost now since it was launch for $999 in 2016. According to KGI reports, Apple is on the verge of launching a new MacBook Air with a decent price rate for this spring. Being relatively high for the year, this is the time when Apple will really lower his prices in laptop segments.

However, Apple did not exactly redesign their flagships, but instead a few specs changes leaving the older processor unchanged in 2017. The relevant issues such as Meltdowns and Spectre vulnerabilities has left the option of an older processor, really time to upgrade to a newer one. The MacBook has been relying on the old 1440 x 900 display, which isn’t even around the latest laptops with FHD display with 1080p and much more vivid colour options. Another big question is on USB ports, Apple has been using USB Type-C ports, while everyone has been using USB-A peripherals.

Another big reason for the demise could be its 1.35kg weight, as the name speaks ‘Air’, it can drop MacBook air from the lineup. MacBook Pro weighs more at 1.37 kg and the latest MacBook only weighs 0.92 kg.

According to DigiTimes, “The company that currently provides LCDs for the MacBook has seen an increase in orders – including orders for a 13in display. The suggestion is that Apple is planning to ship a 13in MacBook in 2018, replacing the MacBook Air.”

Apart from this, lowering price will eventually move down the MacBook Air from its high-priced lineup. Moreover, Air will be replaced by the 12-inch MacBook with the higher price, Type-C ports and the limited performances. Apple is still relying on Air till now, as the higher prices are really making the industry more attractive, mainly for the buyers.
