Apple completed the “Time Flies” event and it had some major announcements and launches to make.

Finally, the event for which we all were waiting for is here. It was here and it is gone actually. Some amazing new devices were launched by Apple. No new iPhone launch though. As suspected we have to wait another month for it. But there were iPads, Apple Watches, Apple One and much more.

Let’s look at all of them. First of all, the best device launched in the event(According to me) was the new iPad Air.

The iPad Air(4th gen).

The new iPad Air looks just like the iPad Pro, slimmer bezels, and just a 0.1-inch difference in the size. It has a bigger 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display with a 2360 x 1640 resolution. And the company has moved the Touch ID button from the front of the device to the top in the sleep/wake button. So yes, the rumors of Touch ID on iPad were true.

This iPad Air can easily be one of the best products launched by Apple in recent times. It works on the latest iPadOS14, it has the A14 Bionic chip, 6-Core CPU, 4-Core GPU, and a 16-Core neural engine. And the best part, USB-C is here. No more Lightning port.

It comes in 5 different colors i.e sky blue, green, silver, space gray, and rose gold. It comes in two variants, a 64GB storage one and a 256GB storage one. And obviously there will be options for Wifi or Cellular or Wifi plus cellular. The starting price in India is Rs 54,990.

iPad(8th Gen)

The second iPad launched was the base iPad. It works on the A12 Bionic chip, but the same iPadOS 14. It comes in two versions, 32GB and 128GB. The new iPad (8th Gen) supports Apple and third-party keyboard accessories as well as the 1st Gen Apple Pencil. You won’t get the USB-C on this iPad. This still has the lightning connector. The prices of this device start at Rs 29,990 in India.

This was about the iPad. Now moving onto the most awaited Apple Watch Series 6. And along with that, the rumors of Apple Watch SE have also turned out to be true.

The Apple Watch Series 6

The Apple Watch Series 6 will be powered by a new S6 chip, It is a dual-core processor based on the A13 Bionic in the iPhone 11. Apple also claims that the Watch’s screen is very good at adapting to brightness levels of the real world. The screen can get 2.5 times brighter outdoors and also has an always-on altimeter.

The biggest addition is the blood oxygen saturation meter. It has 4 infrared rays which combine with advanced algorithms to show the oxygen level of blood in just 15 seconds.

Apple also announced a new type of wrist band called the Solo Loop. It’s a stretchable silicone loop with no clasp. It’s available in multiple sizes and comes in seven different colors. There’s also a braided Solo Loop available in five colors.

The Watch is available in 5 new colors, a blue aluminum, gold stainless steel, a graphite stainless steel, and also an Apple Watch Product Red model. The pricing starts at Rs 40,990.

The Apple Watch SE

After the huge success of iPhone SE 2020, Apple came out with the Apple Watch SE. And this will also be a huge hit just like the iPhone SE.

It has many of the same features as the Series 6, including a built-in accelerometer, gyroscope, an always-on altimeter, and fall detection, but it’s powered by the S5 chip used in last year’s Series 5 model. Notably absent is an always-on display, which the Series 5 had. The Apple Watch SE prices start at Rs 29,990 in India. The new SE is still not the cheapest Apple Watch. The Apple Watch Series 3 is still available in the market.

Apple has also decided to remove the USB power adapter from Apple Watch boxes to help reduce environmental impact. There is also news that they will do it for the upcoming iPhones too.

There will also be a new Family Setup on both the watches. This will allow you to manage multiple Apple Watches from a single iPhone. The feature requires that the Apple Watches have a cellular connection, and it will only work with Series 4 devices or newer.

The Apple One Subscription Service

Another most rumored thing which was the bundling of all Apple services has also turned out to be true. The Apple One subscription service was launched by Apple. It will basically come in three tiers. The more money you give, the better services you get. In India though, there are only two tiers, as India doesn’t have the Fitness+ and Apple News+ services.

The three plans are named as Apple One Individual, Apple One Family, and Apple One Premier. You can read all the details of the Apple One subscription right here.

The Apple Fitness

Apple is launching a new subscription service. Apple Fitness Plus. It will be available in the Apple One subscription service, only under the Premier plan though. So it won’t be available in India.

There are 10 different workout types, including yoga, cycling, and dance, and the company says new workouts will be added every week. The service will launch before the end of the year. It will cost $9.99 per month, or you can subscribe for a full year for $79.99.

More announcements on IOS14, iPadOS 14, WatchOS7, tvOS14 on 16th September.

Well, it was all about the hardware and new products last night. Apple will dive deeper into its upcoming OS and software updates. The company also said that all of the hardware products announced on 15th will have the new software on board.
