Many of the Huawei or Honor brand device users may have noticed some of their phone apps breaking down. These apps mainly include those apps that access Google Maps. However, according to Google, a fix is coming soon for such users. But according to some other reports, several other issues may not get a fix. These issues are arising due to latest updates in Google Play Services. Many Android Auto users with Huawei devices are reportedly encountering internet errors. These users are getting the error messages on pressing the microphone button on the head unit in the car. Users get error messages like Internet connection is weak at the momentinternet connection is not stable at the moment or internet connection is not reliable at the moment.

Whats next for such users:

According to many folks on the Google Product Forums and Google’s Issue Tracker, latest Google Play Services update, version 12.6.73 is causing the problem. The latest update reportedly broke Google Maps integration and location sharing within certain apps. These leaves various apps that use Google Maps like Uber completely useless. However, the good news for users is that Huawei and Google are aware of the problems and they have identified the cause. According to Google, the problem was due to an unknown change to the file-system permissions.

According to Google with the release of a new version of Google Play Services, the problems will be resolved. However, the search giant company did not say when the new update will be coming. In the meantime, users who are getting such issues can disable Google Play Services and restart the phone. Alternatively, users can also clear out the app’s cache or uninstall the app’s update.
