ASUS has launched a new Republic of Gamers (ROG) series laptop in India. The ASUS ROG Strix GL702ZC. This is the world’s first gaming laptop that comes equipped with an eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 1700 processor.

ASUS ROG Strix GL702ZC: Price and Availability
The ASUS ROG Strix GL702ZC gaming laptop was first announced in November of 2017. There were three variants unveiled at the time: one with a Ryzen 5 CPU, other with Ryzen 7, and the last with a 120HZ display.
The variant of the Strix GL702ZC that has now launched in India comes with the Ryzen 7 processor and a 60HZ display. The laptop will start shipping from March 20th and is available for pre-order from Flipkart. The gaming beast offers great bang for the buck as it is priced at Rs. 1,34,990.
ASUS ROG Strix GL702ZC: Specifications
The ASUS ROG Strix GL702ZC gaming laptop sports a 17.3-inch full-HD IPS anti-glare display along with Radeon FreeSync support and a refresh rate of 60HZ. The laptop features four display modes accessible with just a single click-Normal mode, Vivid mode, Eye Care mode, and Manual mode.
It is powered by the octa-core Ryzen 7 1700 processor that supports 16 threads. This processor has a base frequency of 3.0 GHz that can boost up to a maximum of 3.7 GHz. It is paired with the Radeon RX580 GPU that has 4GB of GDDRS VRAM.
This is coupled with 16GB of DDR4 RAM, however, is expandable up to 32GB as it has two SO-DIMM sockets under the hood. For storage, the gaming beast comes loaded with a fast 256GB SATA3 M.2 SSD as well as a 1TB 7200RPM HDD for mass storage.
ASUS ROG Strix GL702ZC: Connectivity and Other Features
The ASUS ROG Strix GL702ZC gaming laptop’s display offers a 178 degree wide viewing angles along with AMD’s FreeSync display technology. This technology synchronises the display’s refresh rate with the graphics card to prevent lag, minimise frame-rate stutter and eliminate visual tearing for ultra-smooth gaming visual.
The laptop is even compatible with FreeSync-compatible external monitors which can be connected via DisplayPort or HDMI. The Radeon RX580 GPU that is integrated into this machine is capable of providing a smooth, low-latency, and stutter-free VR experience.
ASUS says that this design will ensure maximum and stable cooling efficiency for the Strix GL720ZC for intense gaming marathons.
