Asus will be joining Samsung, Huawei, HMD and a number of other tech giants at MWC 2018 later this month to divulge some new products. The Taiwanese company is expected to unveil the Zenfone 5-series at the tech trade show which will succeed last years Zenfone 4 lineup. The upcoming series will not only include the Zenfone 5, but the Zenfone 5 Lite as well. The latter is set to come with four cameras and an 18:9 display, among other things.

Notable tipster Evan Blass confirmed the existence of the Zenfone 5 Lite and has also provided an image of the smartphone. The render shows the front of the smartphone and back in White colour. Blass in the tweet reveals that the Zenfone 5 Lite will sport a Full-HD+ display, which means it will have an 18:9 aspect ratio. The image also shows the display with slim bezels on the top and bottom. Display aside, the biggest highlight of the Zenfone 5 Lite will be its quad cameras with a dual camera setup on the fron and dual cameras on the back. From the specifications proclaimed by Blass, the Zenfone 5 Lite will be a selfie-centric smartphone as you will get two 20-megapixel sensors on the front, while the rear cameras will see a pair of 16-megapixel sensors. The dual camera setup will presumably allow for bokeh shots from both the front and rear.

As per the image, the Zenfone 5 Lite will sport a verticle rear camera setup on the top center with a fingerprint sensor just below- a design similar to the Honor 6X. The Zenfone 5 is also expected to feature a similar design, only the dual rear camera will be placed vertically on the top left corner according to past leaked images.

The latest render of the Zenfone 5 Lite suggests a metal frame sandwiched between glass on the front and back. The frame sees two speaker grilles on the bottom on either side of a USB port. The 3.5mm headphone jack will be on the top while the volume controls and power button will be seen on the right side of the handset. Asus press event is scheduled to take place on February 27 at MWC 2018 in Barcelona. We will likely be known more about the Zenfone 5-series in the coming days.
