Samsung’s premium flagship smartphone Galaxy Note 8 is a true android flagship, as it packs best of both the worlds starting from build quality to its camera capabilities. Here is a brief comparison between the two most anticipated smartphones from the different platforms.

Operating system: Choosing between Android and iOS is a tough task. If you have used Android then Android might be your favourite one, if you have used iPhone then, iOS. Practically, it takes time to shift from one major operating system to other. Both operating systems are fast, fluid and offer well appreciable features. However, Samsung’s UI is always known for its resource carving nature and iOS for its efficiency nature. So, it’s an egg or hen question without any conclusion.

Design: Both smartphones have their own philosophical design language. The Apple iPhone 7+ features all metal unibody design, which can withstand minor impacts and gives the device a solid build. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 features all glass design, making it possible to present in multiple colour options with wireless charging capability.

Camera: The DNA behind the camera setup of these two smartphones is quite similar. Both devices offer dual 12 MP camera (RGB + RGB) with F/1.8 and F/2.4 aperture on iPhone 7+ and F/1.7 and F/2.4 aperture on Galaxy Note 7. Both devices do support X2 optical lossless zoom, portrait mode and 4K video recording capability. The only normal sensor on the iPhone comes with OIS, the Galaxy does offer OIS for both normal sensor and telephoto sensor. The iPhones camera has been tested extensively and found to be one of the best camera smartphones ever. Though, Galaxy Note 8 features similar camera setup (hardware) software optimisation will make a lot of difference.

Processor and RAM: Galaxy Note 8 will have two variants (one with SD 835 and Exynos 8890) depending on the market, the device comes with standard 64 GB onboard storage and a micro SD slot. The Apple iPhone 7+ comes with Apple A10 fusion chip with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB or 128 GB or 256 GB onboard storage and doesn’t offer any storage expandability.

Best things about Galaxy Note 8: Galaxy Note 8 comes with most appreciated 2K QHD AMOLED screen, paired with dual curved edges. The device also gets IP68 water resistance rating, 3.5 mm headphone jack, Wireless charging and Iris scanner.

Best things about Apple iPhone 7+: Apple iPhone 7+ comes with IP67 water resistance rating, software updates up to 4 years and 3D touch, which are not offered in any other smartphones.

Pricing: Both devices are priced almost equally, considering the fact that the iPhone being a year old smartphone and Galaxy Note 8 a newly launched one does offer much difference, other than operating system.
