Elon Musk’s The Boring Company has launched a new product: a Flamethrower. The Boring Co.’s mission is to plan a low-cost but fast-digging tunnel through Los Angeles to help alleviate the car traffic faced by the city. The company has been selling one flamethrower for $500 (+taxes). This is for pre-order. It is predicted that Elon Musk has sold $4 million worth Flamethrower still now.
“1,000 ordered already, only 19,000 left!” Musk tweeted. The company sold 1000 units in the first three hours of it’s launch between the night of 27 Jan and early hours of 28 Jan. Musk has sold 20,000 flamethrowers till now.
Well, this is the world’s safest fire throwing the weapon. There is also a $30 branded fire extinguisher which can be ordered. Musk’s The Boring company is also working parallelly creating a network of underground tunnels in LA. To fund the project, Musk is selling weird stuff with company’s logo.
“The ATF [US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives] says any flamethrower with a flame shorter than 10 ft is A-ok,” Musk wrote on his Twitter account. “Our design is maxed fun for least danger. I’d be way more scared of a steak knife.” Apparently, a flamethrower emits fire lesser than 10 feet, does not require a permit.
The company started off as a joke on twitter. Musk tweeted that if he was able to sell 50,000 boring company hats, then he would start selling flamethrower.
“When the zombie apocalypse happens, you’ll be glad you bought a flamethrower,” tweeted Musk. “Works against hordes of the undead or your money back!”
The flamethrower can be ordered online and will be shipped in the spring.
