Centric, a new smartphone manufacturer is all set to launch a new premium mid-tier Android smartphone dubbed as the Centric A1 in India. As of now, there is no information on the availability and the price tag. Looking at the tech specifications, the device is likely to be priced at ₹10,999 or lesser. So, let’s look at the technical specifications of the Centric A1.

Just like most of the premium mid-tier smartphones, the smartphone offers a premium full metal unibody design with a premium looking design language. All metal unibody design does look inspiring and the smartphone has its own signature touches, which makes it one of a kind smartphone.

The Centric A1 features a 5.5-inch FHD IPS LCD screen, protected by 2.5D curved tempered glass on the top. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa-core SoC processor, paired with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot (up to 128 GB).

In terms of connectivity, the smartphone offers a dual SIM card slot with 4G LTE and VoLte capability with additional support for WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, and Bluetooth 4.2. The smartphone is also expected to feature analog FM Radio as well. Additionally, the phone offers a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, which can unlock the smartphone in just 0.2 seconds, which will be one of the fastest fingerprint scanners on the market. Additionally, the smartphone also offers DTS sound via loudspeaker and 3.5 mm headphone jack as well.

For the selfie camera, the phone offers an 8 MP fixed focus selfie camera with 1080p video recording capability and a 13 MP rear-facing main camera with 1080p video recording capability. So, one can expect good-looking photos in the normal lighting condition. However, the camera does not offer OIS or EIS, so, the video footages will not be shaken free what so ever.

Finally, the smartphone offers a 3000 mAh Li-ion battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 capability. As a matter of fact, this is the only smartphone that offers fast charging. However, the slightly smaller battery capacity might not last longer than the competitive smartphone. In terms of operating system, the smartphone runs on Android Nougat 7.1 with custom UI on the top. With respect to future upgrades, the smartphone maker hasn’t promised on anything.

At the price tag, Centric A1 does look good in all the departments. However, there is no “wow” feature, that might take the today’s competition. At this price tag, now we have smartphones like Lenovo K8 Note, Moto G5 S Plus, and the Xiaomi Mi A1, which costs a bit more with improved hardware, dual camera and newer software capability.
