When Steve Jobs first unveiled the Apple iPad, the 10-inch slab was meant to be a bridge between Macbook and iPhone, or on an Android user’s standard, it fills the gap between the Laptop and smartphone. Over the years, the iPad has come up in such a way that, they have the potential of a high-end laptop along with the portability of the smartphone.

However, as the smartphone makers are releasing many smartphones with 5.5-inch to a 6.0-inch display, the craving for the iPad has almost thinned down in last few years, considering the fact that, one has to spend a hefty check to buy one. However, in last few quarters, the graph is bit stabilizing with an increase in the sales of the Apple iPad.

If we dig deep for this sudden fluctuation, it is not the raw power that is offered by these iPads or the massive iPad Pro with a 12.9-inch display. In fact, the company has launched a fresh iPad in 2017, which replaces the iPad line lineup and the device literally costs $350 for the entry level WiFi model. Though the brand has made few compromises on the design and build-quality (no laminated display or no antireflection coating), the affordable price tag has been attracting a lot of audiences, especially from the markets like India and China.

As the company found the formulae for success, the brand is expected to launch a successor of the same in the upcoming months. By the March or April, we can expect a new iPad with standard 9.7-inch display and a metal unibody design. From the aesthetic point of view, the upcoming iPad is expected have a similar design language compared to the present generation iPad. All the required upgrades will be made internally, which should improve the overall user experience of the actual user.

Here is the list of changes that are expected from the next generation Apple iPad:

  •  The upcoming iPad will be powered by either Apple A10 or Apple A10x Mobile Processor, paired with 3 GB RAM instead of 2 GB.
  • The camera will be upgraded from 8 MP to 12 MP with a dual tone dual LED flash and optical image stabilisation.
  • dual stereo speaker setup with quad speakers is also expected.
  • Like always, the iPad will be powered by latest and greatest iOS 11.
  • Expected to offers a second generation Touch ID, built on to the home button.
  • The Storage option is likely to start from 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB with separate WiFi and LTE models.
  • Apple Pencil support.
  • The pricing is expected to remain at the present iPad price and the previous model is expected to retail at a much lower price tag.
