Sometimes users face a problem while opening an app. As soon as they open an app, it immediately closes down. Users try to open it again and face the same problem again. This is not a very big problem. Clearing the app’s data and cache may prove good to fix the problem. Like any other Operating System, Android also stores some apps data and also saves user’s preferences, logins and more things like that. This is why the user doesn’t have to always log in for GmailFacebook or other apps like that. However, sometimes this data may get corrupted and cause problems while opening.

Force Stop

Basically, users can clear two types of basic files from any app, data and cache files. Cache files are those temporary files that the app downloads while its use. For example, while watching videos on YouTube, the app may download the videos before playing to avoid any disruption while video playing. These files are saved in the form of cache files. As the user will clear the cache, the app just has to download the files again.

On the other hand, data of any app is the most crucial part of any app. It is the important information stored by the app. It mainly contains information such as login info, app preferences and other settings like that. Clearing the app data is just like uninstalling the app and re-installing it again. This will clear out all the settings and other info that the app has stored. It is a worst case solution if even after clearing the cache files, the app doesn’t work properly.

After clearing the app, the app will behave just like the newly installed app. I am hopeful that this will fix the problem of the app. However, if the problem still persists user should uninstall the app and try re-installing it.

I hope that this tutorial will help users find a solution to their problem of an app not responding.
