CTA announced official logo for 8k Television8k TV UHD Logo

The tech industry is transforming at a very fast pace as we get to hear about new advancements being made on a regular basis. We are becoming more and more tech-dependent every day. In the latest of advancements, Consumer Technology Association (CTA) has officially confirmed the industry definition and logo for 8K Televisions and Devices can start using the logo from January 1st, 2020, onwards. Moreover, CTA has also released the specs for 8K TV.

Here’s what the 8k TV has to offer:

Display resolution:

We can expect at least 33 million active pixels at with at least 7680 horizontally and 4320 vertically within a 16:9 window.

Digital Inputs:

One or more HDMI inputs supporting resolution of 7680×4320 pixels, a bit depth of 10-bits, frame rates of 24, 30 and 60 frames per second, HDR transfer functions and colorimetry as specified by ITU-R BT.2100, and HDCP v2.2 or equivalent content protection.

Up-conversion:

The ability to upscale SD, HD, and 4K video to display it at an 8K UHD display resolution.

Bit Depth:

Capability to receive 10-bit 8K images and render an image that shows responsiveness to changes to any of the 10 bits.
