Die With Me : Exclusive chat app to connect with battery-dying smartphones

A good fine day, we never bother to charge our smartphones. But, the heartbreaking feeling when we realize that our phone is going to die soon because it’s out of charge. That’s why we keep on charging our phone to get us through the whole day.

That moment comprises of Isolating experiences of fun with a pinch of panic. Now, this is the time when ‘Die with Me’ app comes handy which enables you to connect to a real-time chat room. The only condition you need to know about is just that it works only when your battery is below 5%. If you are higher than 5% than the app won’t open up. Once you are already in and you charge above 5% it will automatically throw you out of the chatroom. Thus, you’re connected to the peoples with the same situation of getting black due to low charge.

Dries Deporter says the app has already captured half a million messages. There is an average of eight users on at any time. Once your phone dies though, there’s nothing that Die With Me, or anyone for that matter can do to quiet the existential dread that accompanies a dead, black screen. According to him, Die With Me provides an exclusivity and reason for lower phones battery.

You can share the same feeling of goodbyes or anything you feel with the other peoples. “It’s a feeling that our generation understands. The feeling of being dependent on technology,” Deporter added.

Artist Dries Deporter and developer David Suprenant plans to release a book consisting the room’s conversation. Depoorter says. “People ask each other where they live, what kind of music that they like but sometimes it’s also very poetic. We already saw conversations explaining what they feel when their phone is going to die. Or people share stories to each other about situations when they had a dying phone.”
