Falcon Heavy had a successful launch from  NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 3:45PM ET. The two outer cores of the Falcon Heavy came back to the Earth except the middle core missed the drone ship where it was supposed to land.

Other than this the mission of SpaceX was a success. The rocket made a beautiful arc to the space and the side outer cores also landed back on Earth in about two and a half minutes. Both of them landed on the landing pads that were called called Landing Zone 1 and Landing Zone 2.

After three minutes from the liftoff, the center core of the rocket broke from the upper part, on which the Tesla roadster was mounted. The Tesla car was successfully put into the space but the center core couldn’t land back on the landing pad. Initially the car was in the right orbit on which it had to be on: revolving around the Sun, out to the distance of Mars’ orbit. But now the car had deviated from the orbit that it was planned to be on. Now the trajectory of Tesla is in an orbit that extends and has entered the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.

Musk shared a picture of the map of Tesla’s final orbit on Twitter as well. After the launch, the Tesla car has been in the space for more than six hours. It is still unclear about what is going to happen to the car. Before the launch, Musk said that there is a tiny chance that the car will collide with Mars. Now that the car as changed it’s path, it is still unknown what is going to happen.

But the car’s journey until now has proved that Falcon Heavy has capabilities of putting objects to deeper space and bring the reusable parts of the rocket back to the Earth. Space companies like Planetary Resources and Deep Space Industries are working on the project tat if water can be mined from asteroids someday. The company is making ties with SpaceX and is willing to know that if Falcon Heavy is capable of sending their company’s space craft to the asteroid belt.
