On Sunday, M Venkaiah Naidu, who is the Vice president has come up and launched a new social media platform under Aatmanirbhar Bharat Campaign named “Elyments”. After the ban of 59 Chinese apps, the launch amidst growing anti-China sentiment is a remarkable move. The app can be used by users worldwide as it is available on iOS as well as Android platforms.

The made in India app has the feature of eight different regional languages. The app is free of cost for all the users for making audio and video calls which also includes conference calling.

One of the most unique features is that the commands can be interpreted by the app in regional language as well.

Giving importance to privacy

The privacy of the app is one of the most important selling points. With different types of foreign and local apps, the security of data has been a major concern. The Elyments app’s feature also states that without the permission of the user their data cannot be shared with any of the third party members.

 Features of App

The app has been created by Sumeru software Solutions, this app consists of all different kinds of basic features of different popular social apps such as feeds, also provided with the option of discovering where you can search for any of the athletes, politicians, and celebrities and follow them.

An alert is an option provided in place of the notification bar which allows you to keep a track of your friend requests and different activities such as likes or comments. Users will also be able to click photos and use filters which are very much similar to apps such as Snapchat, Instagram, etc.

One of the major concerns of the app is to promote Indian brands, very much like the marketplace of Facebook along with Elyments Pay for having a secure transaction.

Users’ response

On the App Store, Elyements is being liked by people and has a good rating. Within 24 hours the app has been downloaded by 1.3 million users. Before the launch of the app, Narendra Modi had launched the Challenge of Aatamnirbhar asking the community of Indian tech and start-up companies to come up with new ideas and create made in India apps.
